New data reveals the top 11 wealthiest streets in South Africa based on price per square metre, with Cape Town dominating the list. New World Wealth calculated the average price of a 200-square-metre apartment on each street using December 2016 figures, finding that The Ridge & Cliff Road in Clifton narrowly outpaced Dock Road in the V&A Marina. While Clifton’s high property values are well known, the V&A Marina has seen particularly striking growth, with Seeff Property Group reporting that values have nearly doubled since 2011. Sales in the V&A Marina reached R2.030 billion in 2023, with average prices hitting R10.464 million. Entry-level apartments in the Waterfront now range between R7 million and R9 million, and average prices per square metre have climbed to R84,020, with top-end listings reaching R140,000.
Cape Town’s streets account for eight of the top 11 entries, with Clifton alone featuring multiple entries, including The Ridge & Cliff Road
